چکیده

Metastasis of ovarian carcinoma to the stomach [1–5] or pancreas [6,7] is uncommon. Furthermore, synchronous metastasis of ovarian adenocarcinoma to the stomach and pancreas has never been reported. We report here the detection of synchronous metastasis to both the stomach and pancreas from a resected ovarian papillary serous cystadenocarcinoma. At 25 months after gynecological surgery, a gastric submucosal mass and pancreatic masses were noted on follow-up computed tomography in an asymptomatic 51-year-old woman. Contrast-enhanced computed tomography showed a 4.6× 4.2-cm submucosal mass in the gastric antrum (●" Fig.1a) and a 1.0×1.0-cmmass in the pancreatic body (●" Fig.1b). The serum cancer antigen 125 (CA-125) level was high (89U/mL; normal <35U/mL). The patient underwent esophagogastroduodenoscopy (EGD), which showed a 3-cm subepithelial mass at the antrum (●" Fig.2). Endoscopic ultrasound (EUS) demonstrated that the lesion was located mainly in the fourth layer (●" Fig.3). In addition, two pancreatic lesions, measuring 7×5mm and 4×3mm, were identified in the pancreatic body (●" Fig.4). EUS-guided fine-needle aspiration (EUS-FNA) of the gastric and pancreatic lesions was performed, and microscopic examination showed a group of cells with rounded borders and round to oval nuclei in a papillary arrangement (●" Fig.5). Fig.1 Follow-up abdominal contrastenhanced computed tomography in an asymptomatic 51-yearold woman at 25months after gynecological surgery. a A 4.6×4.2-cm intramural mass (yellow arrows) in the gastric antrum is suggestive of a gastric submucosal tumor. b A 1.0×1.0-cm mass (yellow arrows) in the pancreatic body exhibits slight enhancement in the early phase. Fig.2 Gastroscopy shows a 3.0-cm submucosal tumor covered with normal gastric mucosa at the antrum.

Pancreatic metastases from ovarian carcinoma--diagnosis by endoscopic ultrasound-guided fine needle aspiration.

Pancreatic metastases are very uncommon and originate most commonly from lung, colon, breast and kidney cancer. Ovarian adenocarcinoma has been reported as a primary site of pancreatic metastasis, but its diagnosis has rarely being reported by endoscopic ultrasound guided fine needle aspiration (EUS-FNA). We report a case of multiple metastases to the pancreas from ovarian carcinoma occurring f...

Multiple Gastric Metastases from Ovarian Carcinoma Diagnosed by Endoscopic Ultrasound with Fine Needle Aspiration

Metastasis to the stomach from nongastric tumors is a rare event. We present a case of ovarian cancer metastasis to the gastric wall that presented as multiple subepithelial gastric lesions. A 55-year-old female with known stage III b serous ovarian cancer was admitted to the hospital with melena and anemia. A 1.5 to 2 cm subepithelial mass with superficial overlying erosion in the antrum was s...

Pancreatic Metastasis from Rectal Cancer that was Diagnosed by Endoscopic Ultrasonography-guided Fine Needle Aspiration (EUS-FNA)

Pancreatic metastasis from colorectal cancer is rare, and there have been only a few reports of its preoperative diagnosis by endoscopic ultrasound-guided fine needle aspiration (EUS-FNA) with immunohistochemical staining. We herein describe the case of a 77-year-old woman in whom a solitary mass in the pancreatic tail was detected 11 years after rectal cancer resection. The patient also had a ...

Pancreatic metastasis of an ovarian malignant mixed Mullerian tumor identified by EUS-guided fine needle aspiration and Trucut needle biopsy.

CONTEXT Malignant mixed Mullerian tumors are rare ovarian neoplasms that account for less than 2% of ovarian malignancies. They have a generally poor prognosis and often develop recurrent disease. To our knowledge, this is the first report of a malignant mixed Mullerian tumor with metastasis to the pancreas. The metastatic tumor was identified by endoscopic ultrasound guided fine needle aspirat...

Pancreatic metastasis from gastric carcinoma diagnosed by endoscopic ultrasound-guided fine-needle aspiration.

Upper digestive endoscopy in a 36-yearold woman complaining of epigastric pain revealed an ulcerative lesion in the gastric body (●" Fig.1a). Endoscopic ultrasonography for cancer staging demonstrated a T2 gastric lesion, and a solid lesion measuring 10.2mm×9.6mm in the pancreatic body (●" Fig.2a). Histologic analysis of biop...
